Brrr..! Pretty nippy while jogging this morning — cold enough to see sheets of thin ice; not a common sight here.
When I was a kid in Korea, there was a very large rice paddy behind our house. When it began to freeze over, a few brave souls took their chances, skating as fast as possible. The slow ones broke through, but the faster ones glided over the wobbly sheets of ice, flying over cracks forming under their feet. Eventually, nobody fell through, as the winter progressed; until spring.
